MOTHERS ARE PRECIOUS JEWELS
|
|
|
“The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.”
Dedicating the ongoing week to our loving mothers, students of class II presented the theme in a very passionate way. They recited a beautiful poem and each one shared what makes them feel blessed about having their dear MOMS.
A sweet role play was enacted marking the importance of motherhood.

Mother's Day
|
|
|
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over.
GOD could not be present everywhere and therefore he created mothers. Mothers are angels sent from heaven above. They hold their childrens’ hands for a short while but their hearts forever. All these heart touching lines make us feel how vital is the role of mothers in our lives. A Mother is truly a ‘Blessing In Disguise’. Recognizing the importance of Mother’s Day, our students presented a special assembly. They gave a thrilling dance performance dedicated to all mothers. A poem was recited on Motherhood. Our Lovely Millenniumites, with all love and regard for their mothers participated in the assembly. They expressed their love and warmth by making cards for their mothers.
Mother’s love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible.

Investiture Ceremony
|
|
|
A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Leaders aren’t born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.”
As the leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality, the Investiture ceremony for the session 2012-13 was held on 5th May 2012 with great pride and solemnity. It was indeed a memorable day in the history of The Millennium School, HMEL Township as the first school cabinet was invested with the responsibility of representing the proud tradition of the school and being role models to the other students of the school.
Following the invocation of God’s blessings rendered by the school choir, The Principal honoured the school cabinet with school sashes and the Headmistress Mrs. Anju Nagpal conferred the badges on them. The Principal administered the oath to the cabinet whereby they declared and vowed to abide by the ideals and ethics of the school and fulfill their duties according to their respective portfolios to the best of their abilities. The Principal congratulated the members of cabinet and exhorted them to soar high and uphold the school’s name.
The school motivates the students for hard work and achievements by all possible means. The prize distribution for the session 2011-12 was done by the principal Mrs.Beena Rao and the ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

Happy Laughter Day
|
|
|
WORLD LAUGHTER DAY
‘A day without laughter is a day wasted’.
World Laughter Day was celebrated with full amusement. Students of Prithvi House presented a hilarious assembly on Laughter Day. It is well said that at the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities. Students presented theme of the day very well and shared the advantages of laughing.
Classes DR to III got funny and vibrant faces on their own pretty face. TLM made funny masks and were thrilled being part of this activity. Our witty students of Class IV to VI shared hilarious jokes and had fun. The day went on nicely leaving a message that laughter is a universal connection. ‘‘ A man isn’t poor if he still can laugh ’’ was the thought shared in the assembly. Everyone tried to make other’s laugh and showed the spirit of mankind.

Labour Day Celebration !!
|
|
LABOUR DAY CELEBRATIONS
Date: 1ST May, 2012
Venue: TMS HMEL
Let us celebrate the
labour
That built up this great land.
From field to field to desk to desk
They built it hand in hand.
Heaven is blessed with
perfect rest but the blessing of earth is toil. It is the
hard work and frugality that built the success of any institution.
Applauding and expressing
gratitude towards the hard work our support staff puts in to add on to the effectiveness of our
work, the Labour Day was celebrated in the school. Special Assembly was held in
which the students performed a dance dedicated to our Support Staff. The
students with their perfect words threw light on the importance of LABOUR DAY.
All the members of support
staff were welcomed on stage expressing
gratitude by putting Tilak and saying
few lines for each of them making them feel belonged to the institution. Our
Headmistress Ms. Anju Nagpal presented Token of Love to them recognizing their hard work and
also motivated students to respect the helpers keeping their hard work and dignity
in mind.
LABOUR IS THE ONLY PRAYER THAT NATURE ANSWERS.

A Day to Celebrate Earth
|
|
On 21st of April 2012, The Millennium School celebrated Earth Day –the most
widely celebrated International environmental event with an aim to focus
attention on the environment and increase students' awareness of the world
around them. As the Earth Day is all about learning about and protecting this
biodiversity, the dire need to protect the Mother Earth was depicted through a
creative choreography. Cultural programmes were organised as part of the
celebrations that featured the talented performers. The headmistress, Mrs.Anju
Nagpal, also motivated the young generation to continue their efforts to
protect plants and animals and to clean up the world we live in.
Earth Day evolved into a week of activities that
tend to be student- action oriented to activate them to participate in various
projects to save Earth. Competitions like English declamation/debate and
creative writing on the related topics that draw out a child's creativity were
the highlights of Earth Day celebrations. Students were also dynamically
involved in the poem recitation and spelling bee competitions. English
calligraphy competition was also organised for class 1 to class 6 and students
put their hand into the art of fine writing. At the end of the programme,
students enjoyed watching a movie with their friends.

‘ALERT TODAY, ALIVE TOMORROW’
|
|
‘ALERT TODAY, ALIVE TOMORROW’ The Millennium School, HMEL Township joined hands with TMS Bathinda in ‘Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow’ programme on 25thFebruary 2012 which was held at TMS Bathinda school campus to encourage the Bathinda community to adopt the safe road practices. The programme was an extension of the school’s commitment to building the road safety awareness among people and fostering a responsible attitude towards their own safety and the safety of others. The programme commenced with a beautiful hymn seeking the blessings of Almighty, presented by the school choir. The poem recitations by Priyanshi Rajiv Jhala of class and N.Vignesh of class 4 were inspiring enough to encourage the gathering to pick up the right road safety behaviours and attitudes for them. In her welcome address, Principal, Mrs. Beena Rao, emphasised on the importance of safe driving practices and need for staying away from drugs. The ‘walking posters’ presented by the students of class 1-5, captured different elements of road safety portraying scenarios of safe behaviours in inspirational and wholly creative ways. The role-plays created a pleasant learning environment for the students and helped them to realize the dangers inherent in the road environment. The entire programme helped the children to become more aware of relevant cues and evaluate traffic situations more efficiently. Ms.Avneet Kaur, national level shooting champion, in her felicitation, expressed her view that extracurricular activities are as important as academics in the current scenario. S. Kaur Singh, DSP Jail, Bathinda, appreciated the school for taking up such initiatives to promote safety awareness among people. As parental involvement is invaluable to model and reinforce road safety behaviour, more attention were given to ensure participation from the parents and strengthen them to become better role models for road safety.
