Students with full fervor and excitement exercised their right to vote for School Cabinet. Students of class III to VI put their precious votes in the respective Ballot Box. They expressed great enthusiasm and contentment in selecting their representatives.

Such activities always make children feel more responsible and confident. We keep on telling children that they are integral part of the institution, such activities make them feel what we say.

Voting Day helped them to know each other in a better way and has surely made them understand how significant it is to elect the right member leaving behind the biased attitude.

It is an honour and great pride to inform you that with your warm support and belief in Millennium Learning System, The Millennium School has been awarded as the ‘Best Innovative K-12 School in India’ at the Indian Education Awards (IEA) given on 28^th April, 2012 at a glittering ceremony at the Claridges Hotel, Surajkund, near Delhi. TMS is applauded for being successful in introducing the technology and new concepts most effectively with a focus on humane growth along with academic enlightenment.

It feels great to be awarded by IEA, known to be amongst country’s most prestigious awards in the education sector.

TEACHERS TRAINING

Training of any kind aims at enhancing the performance of individuals and groups in organizational settings. Likewise, The Millennium School, Bathinda & HMEL Township had organized a three-day training programme for their faculty members in order to augment teaching methods.

The faculty members were exposed to new teaching strategies, namely, Multiple Intelligence and Action Research. Multiple Research emphasized on the importance of understanding the different intelligences a child possesses and Action Research spoke about taking an action depending upon the situation (academic or non-academic). The session was conducted by Ms. Jharna De, a known facilitator from Learning Links.

The faculty members were made aware of the new strategies that can be adopted for teaching in a session Learning Strategies conducted once again by Ms. Jharna De. She emphasized on the importance of understanding each child’s learning style and then adopting a particular Learning Strategy as per his/her needs. Another valuable session taken up was Interactive Bulletin Boards where we gained knowledge of crafting bulletin boards with a new approach. It was a very constructive session as it will pave a way for the students to connect better to the idea of Bulletin Boards.

All-in-all, it was an enriching experience for the entire Millennium faculty which will augment their performance in the times to come.

Give a stranger one of your smiles as it might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

The Millennium Kindness Organisation  in HMEL has started with its kindness programme and request the Millenniumites to lend their helping hands to the needy by giving their extra clothes. Please ensure that the clothes are in wearable condition, washed properly and are not torn. It would be highly appreciated if the clothes are packed in a presentable form with a message.

The best time to start something is ‘NOW’. So let’s join hands on the auspicious and happy occasion of Christmas by remembering the almighty and providing our precious aid and support to the less privileged.

ONE NATION READING TOGETHER

“A good book is the best of friends, the same today and forever.” To celebrate reading as a pleasurable and enriching experience, The Millennium School HMEL also participated in the ‘One nation Reading Together’ programme on the 25th November, 2011. All the children from classes I – V took part in the programme in its utmost spirit and enthusiasm. They read the books together and a platform was given to share their views and experiences. This revealed the different perceptions of the students. The students were able to realize the importance of reading and found it as a delightful experience. Altogether the event was a remarkable experience for the students.

The Director of The Millennium Schools, Mrs. Mahrukh Singh paid her visit to the school on Monday, the 17^th of October. The Principal, Co-ordinator and the faculty of the school received her with reverence and enthusiasm. Later Mrs. Singh had an interactive session with the teachers. She enquired about the different concerns of the teachers and parents and gave necessary guidelines. On the next day, a meeting was conducted with the HMEL officials to discuss about the several issues related to the institution. Mrs. Mahrukh Singh, The Director of the Millennium Schools,  Mrs. Beena Rao, the Principal of TMS, HMEL, Mrs. Anju Nagpal, the Co-ordinator, TMS, HMEL, Mr. Moiz Tankiwala, COO, HMEL, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Vice President. HR, and Mr. Ravi Yadav, Manager, HR , were the delegates of the meeting.

An extensive training program was held for the new teachers of THMS to acquaint them with the exceptional way of teaching and learning styles in TMS. The program began with an inspiring address by The Principal, Mrs. Beena Rao.

The training session by Mrs. Anju Nagpal focused on discovering the self with an extended reach to the inscrutable behavior of children. 
Teachers were exposed to various instructional strategies supported by scientific study for ensuring effectual teaching. Fun filled activities and role plays based on real life  scenarios were an integral part of the program to help the teachers to easily perceive the science of education.
