Autumn Adventurous Camp – Nainital

The school has planned a trip to Nainital for the students of Classes VII - IX from 14th October to 22nd October 2015 to engage students in fun-filled learning experiences.

The trip has been organized with the expert support of, Sri Aurobindo Ashram-Delhi Branch at Van Niwas, Nainital which caters to the most of Indian educational institutes for Basic Rock climbing, Treks, Yoga and meditation.

Nainital and its picturesque surroundings recharge the students. Jungle Safari at Jim Corbett National Park and Jim Corbett Museum, visit to Garjia Devi Temple and Bhimtal are the highlights of the trip.

Children, besides enjoying the trip throughout, will also learn several things like Leadership, importance of time schedule, co-ordination between two or more people etc.

The objectives behind this camp are given below:

  • Adventure activities to build courage, stamina and self-confidence.
  • Channelize energies of the students towards healthy and value-added activities.
  • National integration and harmony through community living.
  • Self development and spiritual upliftment through meditation, and through lectures on health, nutrition, character building, yoga, and on the teachings of Sri Aurobindo.

Activities

• Basic Rock Climbing: Covers training in rock-scrambling, bouldering, tying of knots & hitches, rock-climbing with safety provided by belay, rappelling, and river crossing. Certificates are awarded to participants on successful completion of the camp.

• Treks: A gradual build-up of stamina is one of the objectives of treks. Treks start with a mere 4 km, and by the end of the camp almost all campers are able to complete the enchanting 16 km trek to Kainchi. Treks to other magnificent scenic points include Land’s End, Hanuman Mandir scenic spot on Ayarpatta Hill, Dorothy Seat / Tiffin Top, Jungle Trek to Sri Aurobindo Peak, Snow View and the lofty Naina Peak.

  •  • Games, community singing and cultural programs.
  •  • Yoga-based keep-fit exercises. Shramdan (selfless work offering) to inculcate dignity of labour.
  •  • Meditation, and talks on healthy living, character building, national problems & role of youth.

  1. Total fee charged for the trip will be Rs. 10, 000 which includes food, lodging and travelling, and camp fee.
  2. Last date for giving the names and submission of the payment for the camp is 8th October, 2015.
  3. Please, fill the Consent Form enclosed with the circular.
