School Cinema – The Reel way to Educate Life Skills and Moral Values
Children today have a new set of issues and challenges that they have to deal with which the previous generations probably did not face. Bullying, fear, pressures, stress, sexual abuse and class room violence among others have a tremendous impact on the holistic development of children. We need to equip children with skills and knowledge to deal with these issues.
Development by EduMedia, School is a film based learning modules supported by a fun and exciting workbook, designed to introduce and reaffirm life skills, Values and desired attitudes in children. It helps children understand themselves, maintain relationships and deal with stressful situations better. It also helps them become aware of their responsibilities towards the environment and country.
An integral part of School Cinema is a Continuous and comprehensive Evaluation( CCE) process that determines the effectiveness of learning and assimilation by learners. The program will enable the teachers to effectively evaluate the students and grade them on Life Skills ( thinking skills, social skills and emotional skills), Values and Attitudes.
The programme is designed in a manner that it enhances interaction among parents, teachers and children. It aids in bringing teachers and parents into the circle of learning by providing simple ways of imparting parenting skills and acts as a good teacher training aid to understand students and the issues they face.
