|
|
The Millennium School Bathinda revelled one of the
proudest moments when they unveiled the maiden issue of the school magazine on
17th May 2012 for the year 2011-2012. It was, indeed, a special day
for each member of the Millennium family as was evident from the grand release
in the form of a special assembly. The event was proudly hosted by the student
editors. The elated Principal, Mrs Beena Rao cut the ribbon marking the release
of the 1st edition of the school magazine, Verve and presented the
first few copies to the coordinators and the editorial board as a token of
appreciation. She addressed the students and the TMSB faculty and appreciated
one and all for their contribution in making this beautiful dream turn into
veracity. The exultant and proud editorial board extended their heartfelt
thanks and gratitude to the Principal for showing her faith and confidence in
them and delegating the important responsibility of creating the maiden issue
of the School magazine, Verve and for providing the impetus from time to time
in achieving this beautiful milestone.
The day also outspread an overwhelming sight when
the faculty members were honoured with the certificates by the Principal as a
token of appreciation and acknowledgement for the hard work and dedication.
All-in-all, it
was a day which shall be remembered and cherished for a lifetime by all the

‘Barbie’s Day Out’
|
|
The Millennium School,
Bathinda celebrated its Annual Day for the Little Millenniumites with the theme
‘Barbie’s Day Out’. Tiny-tots
dressed as Barbies, Kens & Disney characters welcomed proud parents. The
colour theme for the day was Silver, Pink, & White signifying Childhood-Purity
& Innocence. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal
Mrs. Beena Rao who welcomed parents, the revered chief guests of the day and
unfolded the Calendar of Events. The Principal showcased the Millennium Vision
filling pride in each parent, student and faculty to be part of the Millennium
Family.
Seeking the Lord’s
blessings the students of class II paid homage to the Goddess of Knowledge
& Wisdom -Saraswati. Melodious songs of the choir from class I & II left
the parents awestruck. Little Millenniumites put on their dancing shoes to give
a tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
A ramp walk on the diverse cultures of Incredible India was presented by
cute little angels of TMS Bathinda. The
auditorium was transformed into a Fantasy Land to make childhood dreams come
true by little Barbies visit to the Disney World. The most awaited performance
of Bhangra and Giddha ‘RANGLA PUNJAB’ was presented by the young artists of class
I. The entire show was a fascinating fusion of visuals, dance & music with
Barbie & Ken. At the end Mrs. Beena Rao, the Principal introduced each

Childhood Dreams… Realms of Innocence
|
|
Childhood…. is undoubtedly the time of innocence and
The Millennium School proved it right by celebrating its Annual Day, Childhood
Dreams… Realms of Innocence on 3rd March, 2012 with zeal and
fanfare, creating yet another indelible impression.
Childhood Dreams… Realms of Innocence showcased a
milieu of what a child dreams about. The School was at the fore in organizing
an exquisite display of a fantasy world full of glee and happiness. The School
emphasized on realizing the dreams that every child holds
in his/her beautiful eyes and made an attempt to fulfill the same.
The programme commenced with the invocation followed
by lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Mrs Beena Rao who furthermore shared
the milestones accomplished by the School all year long. She reiterated her
belief that by taking the parents as partners, the children will definitely
reach realms of perfection.
The evening then outspread a spectacular display of
beautiful Fairy Tales, Elite English dances, sidesplitting Circus, overwhelming
Skits thanking parents for their love and care, and the well-known dance of
Punjab, Bhangra. The charismatic presence of the Disney characters permeated
the ambience with mirth and happiness and the show became a success because of
the witty and entertaining jokers who hosted the show with hilarity and left
everyone awe-struck.
The most awe-inspiring moment for the TMSB family
came when each member was personally introduced by the Principal to the parents
and walked the ramp with pomp and show.
The efficacious culmination of this programme owes
much to the guidance and able support of the Principal Mrs Beena Rao who has
been a guiding light for each one of us and provided the impetus in making this
endeavour a success and by ensuring that each child performs on stage, thus
upholding the vision of the School which emphasizes that each child is special.

CARATHON - ALERT TODAY, ALIVE TOMORROW
|
|
The Carathon started with the blessings of God.
Sardar Kour Singh Ji, DSP Jail inaugurated the drive with all praise for the
initiative taken by The District Administration, Sushant City, ACC Cement, Idea
Group, G.K. transport, The Art Of Living, Kanhiya Advertiser, Inner Wheel Club
& The Millennium School, Bathinda & HMEL. He flagged off the Carathon
applauding the effort of The Millennium School in spreading the message of ‘Driving
safely and staying away from the clutches of drugs.’ He also released a bunch
of balloons carrying the message in the air, ‘Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow.’
More than 50 cars passed through the city without causing any Traffic Jam. With
the guidance of Traffic Police this run successfully concluded at Sushant City
I, where all the drivers and navigators enjoyed the melodious music by Fusion
Melody International Group. In the evening the playground of The Millennium
School was resounding with the voices of students who had made a human chain
and everybody was singing ‘Alert Today,
Alive Tomorrow, Think Today, Change Tomorrow.’ Mrs. Avneet Sidhu, DSP Punjab
Police an Arjun Award Winner for Shooting, Gold Medalist in Common Wealth Games
2006 was the chief Guest for the musical evening. She encouraged students to
follow traffic rules and appreciated the efforts taken by the school. Students
staged a play on safety consciousness on road which conveyed the message of do
not drink and drive, they showcased a heart touching scene to make the public aware of the harmful effects of alcohol
and drugs. Mrs. Beena Rao, Principal The
Millennium School said, this drive has been conducted to give the message that
in day to day life we get stuck in traffic jams where we should show our
presence of mind, instead of getting angry and agitated we should be relaxed
because anger is not going to resolve the problem. In these situations we need
to follow the traffic rules to avoid accidents. She appealed to all that as in
Punjab alcohol and drugs are spreading its wings everybody should safeguard
themselves from these demons. She thanked
District Administration, Traffic Police and the Media for their support and
cooperation without which this run would not have been possible.

The Pledge for Peace by the students of The Millennium School, Bathinda.
These days we hear the cries of pain and terror everywhere. We worry for the safety of our families but if only we would worry for our larger family – the people living on the Earth….Lord Krishna had once rightly said “O Arjun! Each time the earth weeps due to the pain of misdeeds, I shall return in a new form as her saviour.”
In an attempt to make our children aware about these human sufferings and to transform them into little saviors of our Earth, the students of Millennium School performed a synchronized fusion “Krishna ne vegane varo.” Their spell bounding and thought provoking performance captivated the audience and melted their hearts. Through their performance the students brought out the pain and sufferings and pleaded the people to unite and become humans. Everybody pledged to respect each and every soul on the earth and create a pain free world ….

INDUS VALLEY CIVILIZATION
|
|
On a very lovely Friday morning 17th September, 2010 a project for the knowledge enrichment of the students on Indus Valley Civilization was conducted. The main focus was Archeology. The assignment was to excavate the things buried millions of years ago and to understands the mysteries of the early man, his beliefs, myths and much more.
To give first hand information and to instill a sense of interest among children towards Archeology an attempt was made to replicate the things belonging to the early period. Students were explained how to excavate and were given a chance to dig and find out the artifacts buried at different locations. Principal Ms Beena Rao motivated the children by telling them a story of early man, his inventions and discoveries. Her words energized the children and they were instantly ready with shovels and spades in their hands. The whole process came alive. The level of excitement increased with every new artifact being unearthed. The students had never enjoyed a History lesson more.

KRISHNA KREEDA
|
|
The Millennium School Bathinda organized ‘Krishna Kreeda’ on 1st September, 2010 to celebrate Janamashtmi – The birthday of Lord Krishna, the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu who gave us the vital message of the Bhagwat Gita. Children were dressed up as Krishna, Radha and Gopis. The programme started with ‘Arti Kunj Bihari’. The idol of the infant Krishna was bathed, adorned in new clothes and jewellery, placed in a cradle and worshipped. The pattern of little children’s footprints was drawn with rice – flour paste symbolizing the entry of the infant Krishna into his foster – home. Children danced on to the tunes of folk songs and the whole scene of stealing butter after breaking the earthen pot was enacted. The colourful dresses and the engaging laughter of the young ones filled the whole environment with elation.
The students went home with the message
‘Do thy duty, that is best.
Leave unto God, the rest.’

It was a momentous day for The Millennium School as it conducted its first Investiture Ceremony. The spirits and energy levels in the school were very high as each one waited anxiously for the event.
The children were selected on a scale of ten, taking into account their behaviour, leadership, their speaking and writing skills, academic performance, participation in co-curricular activities, students poll and educators and Principal’s opinion.
There was excitement and enthusiasm amongst teachers and students alike as each one had his own speculation. Children burst into applause as the names of their favorite leaders were being announced.
The Principal, Mrs. Beena Rao administered the oath of office while the newly formed cabinet members zealously promised with conviction to uphold the reputation of the school and keep its banner flying high.
In the midst of cheerful uproar the cabinet ministers were sashed and badged by the Principal.
