If we know where we came from, we may better know where to go.
If we know who we came from, we may better understand who we are”
Respecting our elders and cherish family ties, are important values that we believe in inculcating in our children at The Millennium School. As the popular saying goes-“When roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind”. Grandparents are like the roots in the family tree. The stronger the roots the more the tree flourishes. With this thought, we celebrated ‘Grandparent’s Day’ with the children of Pre –primary. It was amazing to see such an enthusiastic response from our grandparent community. For our children, it was a special feeling as they got a chance to introduce, chat, sing and play with their grandparents in their school. Their presence made the day memorable for the children.
The children took forward the activities they had planned with their teachers for this special day. These included singing special songs for them, dancing and playing different games. The grandparents had fun playing antakshari and dancing to old numbers and worked together on a craft activity. The event concluded with the grandparents enjoying lunch with their grandchildren.. But not before the children hugged and thanked them.
As someone wisely said-“Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, mischief, spoiling, wonderful stories and unconditional love”..
