Session 2018-19
Dear Parents
Summer break is round the corner and we are sure that children must have made plans for visiting their grandparents, relatives and friends, watching television during the day, taking a dip in the swimming pool and joining some activity classes with their friends. We wish that they enjoy every minute of this long break.
However, it will be great if you could find time to take them to visit museums and monuments, and encourage them to learn new things, read as many story books as possible, help parents and grandparents, go for morning walk and play in the park in the evenings.
We are also giving a variety of fun-filled activities which they can do during the noon time. Request to help the kids do them neatly and submit the assignment after the vacation. Here’s wishing all a very enjoyable and fun-packed summer break! See you on Monday, June 11, 2018.
Math: 1) Find out the lengths of the following rivers:
Mississippi, Nile, Congo, Ganga, Amazon, Colorado, Danube, Yangtze, Indus and Missouri.
Present the information neatly in a tabular form and answer the following.
a. Arrange the names of the rivers in ascending order of the lengths.
b. Which is the longest river of these? Paste a picture of the river.
c. Which is the shortest of these rivers? Which sea or ocean does this river meet?
d. Find out the countries through which the longest and shortest rivers flow.
2) Do the worksheets given.
English: Note: Make a separate thin single line notebook for English Homework.
1) Do fifteen pages of cursive writing with correct formations everyday (mention date on each page).
Find 30 new cornucopia words and write its meaning. Also frame a sentence for each.
3) Learn ten new words and make a “VOCAB- HANGING” on a drawing sheet (size 75 cm by 56 cm), as follows.

EVS: 1) Indore has a rich history. Take a tour of your city and visit at least one historical monument during your summer vacations. Collect information about the location, history, architecture and any restoration work done on the monument. Click your photographs with the monument you visited and present the information and the photographs (using A-3 size sheet) like a travel brochure.
2) Natural World Wonders: Paste pictures and write information about any five natural world wonders (one on each A-4 size sheet).These may include rivers, peaks, waterfalls, lakes, forests etc.
3) World Environment Day: World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June every year to spread worldwide awareness and action for the environment. The theme for World Environment Day 2018 is ‘Connecting People to Nature’. Make a poster based on this theme on an A-3 size sheet.
