CBSE CONDUCTS CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME AT THE MILLENNIUM SCHOOL, KURUKSHETRA

A two days CBSE workshop under the Capacity Building Programme for the social science teachers of classes IX and X  was organised at The Millennium School, Kurukshetra on 7 and 8 September 2019.  Mrs. (Dr.) Ruchi Sharma and Mrs. Sunaina Sharma were the CBSE resource persons. The session started with an address by the Principal Dr. A. K. Singh who welcomed the dignitaries and shared the expected outcomes of the programme. First of all the various components of class IX and X Social Science syllabus 2019-20, which have come up with certain changes, were discussed. The pattern of exam was also discussed comprehensively. There was a meaningful discussion on various topics wherever ambiguity is usually found among the students and teachers. It was elaborated how the classroom teaching can be correlated with the real life situations so that the learners find the text interesting and useful in modern scenario.  Tips to create the classroom teaching interesting were also provided. The emphasis on experience based learning was laid so that the students can correlate the gained information with their life.  More than 45 teachers from various schools had attended this capacity building programme. All the social science teachers of The Millennium School, Kurukshetra demonstrated various teaching strategies very effectively. At the end of the workshop on 8 September, feedback from the participant teachers was invited and the doubts related to the curriculum were sorted out. Hence, the workshop proved to be helpful at getting clarity on certain issues and concerns. Principal Dr. A. K. Singh thanked the resource personnel for the guidance and expected that CBSE would be conducted such relevant programmes in future, too in order to make the teaching-learning process more efficient.
