GANITOTSAV

The Millennium School, Kurukshetra celebrated the birthday of the great Indian mathematician Ramanujanas ‘Ganitotsav’ on 22nd December 2017. Mathematics and General Exhibitionwas held in the school MPH on this auspicious occasion.  The Exhibition was graced by the presence ofProfessor Dr. KuldipSingh Dhindsa, the Ex-Director General, J.C.D.Vidyapeeth, Sirsa, and Professor and Head, Chemistry-Bio-Chemistry, and Dean, Basic Sciences, Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar. Heinaugurated the Exhibition by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Students of classes I to XII participatedenthusiastically in the Exhibition and made amazing models on the various topics of Math, Science, Social Science, Computer, Economics and Art. Students made different models both still as well as working. It was evident that they had researched for their respective models under the guidance of their teachers earnestly. The fellow students of all the classes and their parents also visited the exhibition to appreciate the hard work put in by the Millenniumites. Each student presented and explained the models made by him or her very eloquently. The students articulated how mathematics is inseparably involved of our life. They depicted various notions of mathematics through their creative models on derivation of pie, proof of all algebraic identities, all geometric theorems, clarification and proof of Pythagoras theorems, multiplication ludo, etc. It was also depicted how science is involved in each object used in life. It was shown with the help of hot air balloon, earthquake alarm, periodic table, room heater, solar geyser, rainwater harvesting, working model on DNA and various life processes, etc. The concepts of computer, economics, history and geography were very well explained through charts, miniatures and models. The students presented their self made school website, math website, software on library management, life cycles of monitor and mouse, cyber security, etc. Miniatures made on the Sanchi Stupa, Dhamek Stupa, jewellery during the Harappan civilization, disaster management were also the centre of attraction.  The art-corner illuminated the various art forms of drawing and painting viz. quilling, spray paintings, Madhubani paintings, Warli paintings, abstract paintings, etc. Each visitor was left astounded by the praiseworthy efforts of the students. Appreciation was observed when all the explorers visited the gallery repeatedly. It was indeed an exhibition which gave the students exposure and confidence to present their thoughts and mind lucidly.
