NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY

The learners were told by the facilitators at The Millennium School, Kurukshetra that National Technology Day is observed to commemorate the nuclear test which was held at Pokhran on 11th of May, 1998. This was a matter of pride for all the people of India. It was on the 11th as well as the 13th of May in 1998, when India conducted five nuclear tests at Pokhran, Rajasthan. The initial five tests were conducted on 11th May when three nuclear bombs were exploded while recording an earthquake of 5.3 Richter scale in the nearby seismic stations. Remaining of the two tests were carried out on 13th May.That is why 11 May was named as National Technology Day at the behest of the then PM, Bharat Ratna Late Shri A B Vajpayee, and is celebrated in a befitting manner every year as a tribute to our engineers, scientists and all such technical manpower who are engaged in nation building and governance.
