PARENTING IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM

The Millennium School, Kurukshetra renowned for its innovative pedagogy and over all development of children organised a parenting workshop – ‘Parenting in The New Millennium’ The workshop witnessed a robust gathering of about 700 parents from the Kurukshetra community and the neighbourhood.

The attending parents had a wonderful interaction with the guest speaker Dr. Bindu Rana a renowned educationist and Director of Educomp’s Research and Development division. The animated discussion and the engaging activities at the workshop helped bring home her point that parents of the new Millennium need to understand and respond differently and appropriately to the needs of today’s children. The parents agreed that it was eye opening to see how the Millennium School’s philosophy blended beautifully with their aspirations for their children, and they felt once more reassured that they had taken a right step towards their children’s future.

The Principal Ms. Archana Soni urged the parents to spend quality time with their children, to listen to them, to understand the challenges faced by children before expecting the children to accept the view point of elders implicitly. Indeed in the Millennium School, Kurukshetra children have the freedom to express their perspective and are encouraged to appreciate an enriched existence with values. The Millennium Learning System and effective parenting are vital to realising the potential within ‘oneself’. Hence Parenting is a sacred responsibility which shapes the destiny of the world.
