A workshop on Cyber Security was organized in the MPH of The Millennium School, Kurukshetra. The experts from Kurukshetra Institute of Technology and Management (KITM) acquainted the learners of classes VI – XII with the importance of the cyber security in life. They were told about various categories of cyber-crime such as hacking, cyber bulling, identity-theft, copying the files, stealing data, etc. which occur through virus, worm, spam and Trojans. They were explained that in order to protect the imperative data one must adopt effective measures like using antiviruses and strong passwords.  One must be very vigilant while sharing his/her E-mail Id’s and accepting the friend requests on social networking cite. The students were also explained about the IT Act 2000 and various Government agencies which safeguard the benefits and keep an eye on the cyber users. There is also the provision of fine and jail for the misusers. It was also suggested to take the help of the teachers and parents if there arises any catastrophic situation. Thus, the session proved to be very helpful to the students. Principal Dr. A. K. Singh thanked the lecturers for imparting relevant and useful piece of information to the students.Two more activities were also organized on the same issue. The students of classes III-V made attractive Posters on Cyber Security. On the hand, the students of classes VI-XII wrote an Essay on it describing the vitality of being alert while using the cyber. The learners enjoyed both the activities and hence, were able to comprehend how to use internet judiciously.
