The Millennium School, Lucknow held Class-specific Orientation Programmes for Parents. The school’s innovative pedagogy, and the amazingly well-researched Millennium Learning System was discussed with parents.
The parents enjoyed various activities quite like their children do in the Millennium classrooms. While they experienced and marveled at the new-age education procedures, they also discussed and agreed upon effective ways of dealing with kids of varied age-groups. Toddlers, pre-school kids, and teenagers were all discussed as per the Developmental Milestones reached at differing age-levels.
The MLS curriculum, activities and Skill-development are all mapped to the Milestones of child-development. Jean Piaget’s Theory of Constructivism and Lev Vygotsky’s (ZPD) Zone of Proximal Development were explained and the parents understood the teaching pattern in the light of these theories.
The Millennium Schools do not believe in Rote-learning practices and the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation System was also elaborated upon. The Millennium team brought home the significance and real meaning of assessment through an activity where parents were criticized ruthlessly for their Orange Squash preparation.
Quality time spent amidst the family while reading / researching with the child was recommended as an indispensable habit for overall development of learners into responsible citizens of tomorrow.

Lucknow, 3rdApril: The Millennium School Lucknow, a state-of-the-art futuristic School at South City, held an Orientation programme for parents at the school auditorium.
The programme began with a Saraswati Vandana, followed by an ice-breaking session with the parents. Effective parenting is possibly one of the most challenging jobs of the 21st century! Thus followed an hour long workshop that addressed the challenges of bringing up the new generation whiz kids. The Millennium team shared a number of practical and easy to apply tips on positive parenting.
Music, dance and theatre were used to communicate with a captivated audience. In clear departure from boring workshops, this was extremely entertaining and lively. The interactive sessions were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. In fact, the activity got the audience out of their seats. It was a thrill to see the parents exhibiting the innocent zeal of the child within them.
Director School’s, Mrs Mahrukh Singh,a famous educationist also addressed the audience and elaborated on how The Millennium School Lucknow, has been designed to meet the needs of the 21st century learner. The school shall be well equipped with facilities to nurture children and help them grow in an encouraging, techsmart and learning–friendly environment. The teachers, the curriculum, the approach to learning and also the parents play an important role in the grooming of a child. All this has been kept in mind while setting up The Millennium School Lucknow, which is part of a country wide chain of schools being set up leveraging Educomp’s advanced learning system—the Millennium Learning System which understands that every child is unique.
The Principal, Dr Manjula Goswami, a noted Educationist and Researcher also provided parents with perceptive insights into parenting. During her address, she also stressed on the need to make the learning process enjoyable and elaborated on how the Millennium Learning System has a positive impact on young minds. Developed by Educomp’s team of over 100 educational researchers, the MLS is a way of learning that makes the education process a thoroughly exciting pursuit for students. The Millennium Learning System will be implemented in The Millennium School Lucknow. She also introduced the Millennium team to the parents and all the staff members were applauded by one and all.
