Art, Science & Craft Exhibition

The Millennium School South City, Lucknow, was abuzz with excitement and fervour on the 9th February, 2019 as it was the day of their Art, Craft & Science Exhibition, “Atrangi Khawab Mere Satrangi Duniya Teri”.

The objective of the exhibition was to bring forth the innate skills and hone the creative genius of the students. The exhibition provided the right platform for the primary wing students to display the varied and beautiful articles prepared by them throughout this academic year. All the items on display were the handiwork of the students which were made from indigenous products. There were corners in the exhibition attributed to art, jewellery, painting, best out of waste, paper mache, paper lanterns and many more.

There were live rooms depicting Indian states - Goa, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, where the students apprised the parents about the language, heritage, customs and traditions being followed. The parents appreciated the efforts of the students who under the guidance of their teachers had put up an amazing array of artifacts.

With an endeavour to promote scientific attitude among the young students, this exhibition was one of its kind. The students of std. VI-XI showcased their scientific skills and creative thinking through self-designed working models and projects that were useful and sustainable in protecting health and environment. They made projects on concepts such as how aerators can be used to conserve water, how soil can be kept fertile, how fruit residues can promote fertility, citrus fruits as good electrical conductors, designing of a hovercraft, etc. The demonstrations and explanations given by the participants impressed all the spectators. The live theatre counters, on The Merchant of Venice, the Hindi Nukkad Natak and the zealous commentary of the radio jockey, enthralled one and all.

The Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami, applauded the students for their innovative and novel ideas and emphasized that Science has always been the solution to end all problems and it remains as a tool for us to achieve the Indian dream of leading the world as a superpower. She encouraged the students to set higher aims in life and remarked that such exhibitions motivated and instilled the confidence in the young minds to think as artists, designers, and innovators. She also appreciated all the participants for working diligently in preparing for this mega event.
