DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION AT THE MILLENNIUM SCHOOL, LUCKNOW

The Millennium School, Lucknow has always endeavoured to instill secular values in our students. All festivals are celebrated in the premises of our school with great fervency and excitement.
The word ‘ Dussehra’ is derived from the Sanskrit word Dasha-hara literally meaning ‘removal of ten’. It refers to Lord Rama’s victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravana. The day also marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasur.

In an effort to make the students realize the moralistic importance of the day, The Millennium School, Lucknow organized a special Assembly on the auspicious occasion. The students of ‘Little Millennium’ dressed as Lord Ram and Laxman presented a short skit on the Ramayana. A dance-drama was also presented by the students of MLS 1.The students of MLS 2 presented a devotional song in praise of Lord Rama.

On the occasion, the students were shown animated Ramayana. They relished each and every moment filled with enthusiam and positivity . The children also contributed in making an effigy of the demon Ravana which was set on fire, under the guidance of teachers, to commemorate the victory of good over evil.
The Principal of the institution, Dr.Manjula Goswami spoke to the students on the philosophical aspect of the festival .She urged the students to incorporate the teachings of the Ramayana in their life.
