GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY AT THE MILLENNIUM SCHOOL, LUCKNOW

In an age of turbulence and hostility, there is a great need for a broad consensus on something unifying, something that encourages a sense of fraternity or togetherness. Global Dignity Day, 2013 is a celebration across the globe to demonstrate the comprehensive power of dignity.

In an attempt to instill righteous values in the students, The Millennium School, Lucknow organized a host of events for different levels of students. The students of MLS1 (Millennium Learning System, Level 1) arranged a special assembly to highlight the significance of virtues like compassion, affection, tolerance and appreciation. A power-point presentation was prepared by the students to elaborate the genesis of Global Dignity Day. A Slogan-Writing Competition was also arranged for the children wherein they came up with soul-stirring slogans to solemnize the goodness around us.

A Story-Writing Competition was organized for the students of MLS 2(Millennium Learning System, Level 2).The children wrote poignant accounts of love, humility and sacrifice. The students of MLS 3 (Millennium Learning System, Level 3) participated in a stimulating and inspiring Poster-Making Competition. The posters spoke volumes on the vivid ideas of Gen next. The students endorsed Anti-racism, Equality for All, Compassion and Dignity for Women through their impressive creations.

The facilitators organized a useful trade of stories, anecdotes and virtuous ideas to magnify the cardinal principles associated with Global Dignity Day. The students shared emotional and touching narratives with one another.

The Principal of the school, Dr.Goswami addressed all the students on this occasion. She advised the students to have unflinching faith in the moral values ingrained in them by their parents and teachers. She stressed that the students must become a value-addition to society and grow into responsible citizens. The day was indeed a catharsis from routine academic activities.
