The students of classes VI – VIII celebrated Raakha Bandhan in a unique manner on 28^th August,15. The festivities began with a special assembly that included a special song by the choir and a dance performance by the dance troop. This was followed by a thought provoking, environment friendly Rakhi celebration wherein the guests of honour (randomly selected parents of students of grades VI to VIII) tied specially handcrafted Rakhis to the branches of trees in order to signify the need to save trees who in turn are the protectors of the environment. The parents highly appreciated this unique method of spreading an awareness among students while celebrating a sacred festival close to every Indians heart.
