Republic Day Celebration at The Millennium School, Lucknow

It was yet another day that made us swell with enthusiasm as we gathered on the morning of 26th January to mark and celebrate the 66th Republic Day of our nation. It was a treat to watch the students spot march as they synchronized with the drum beats and music.  The special program began with the speech delivered by the Head Boy and the Head Girl. The Principal of the school , Dr. Manjula Goswami did the honors by hoisting the national flag. She shared with us the reasons why we must stand united as a nation and work towards nation building. There were a series of cultural events planned that brought out the hidden talent among students. It was inspiring to listen to the speeches of prominent personalities as the students of class IX, X, XI re-delivered their speeches at the Declamation.  The debate competition was very thought provoking as the students came up with revolutionary ideas. It was a colourful and lively day, all the teachers decided to dress up as patriotically as possible exhibiting the obvious colour combination. A vivacious round of storytelling & speech competition was also staged by the students of classes I – V which was an invigorating experience for the members in the audience. The students applauded hard as they witnessed some of their teachers receive laurels for being the ‘Best Dressed’ in tricolor. With the school choir singing songs full of patriotism and love for the nation, the event came to a close.
