SPORTS FIESTA The school playground of The Millennium School, South City, Lucknow was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 3rd December,2022 as the much awaited Sports Fiesta of Grade VII was held in the school. The fantastic turnout from the parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion with great zeal and enthusiasm. The programme began with a welcome speech followed by lighting of the auspicious lamp. This was entailed by releasing of balloons and the declaration of the Meet open by the Principal of the school, followed by the lighting of the Millennium flame, igniting the passion of sporting spirit. The Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami took the salute of the impressive March Past of the Office Body of the school. The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event was the splendid field displays, involving mass student participation, which splattered on the field. Students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events which included Pyramids, Feather Drill, Martial Arts, Zumba and Clapper drill and Grand Finale which mesmerized the audience. These eye-catching and captivating displays were whole heartedly enjoyed and appreciated by the audience. Further the budding athletes (finalists) participated in races with full verve and vigor. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. The young achievers were awarded with trophies by the Hon'ble Principal. Several parents participated in the fun races organized for them with great vigour and enthusiasm and the winners among them were awarded with trophies. Dr.Goswami , in her address, lauded the energy, zest and vitality of students presenting the Field Displays. She opined that sports is a very important part of education because it makes students disciplined. She urged the students to participate in sports with sincerity and utmost dedication. The programme ended with the rendition of National Anthem.
