World Heritage Day

 

World Heritage is defined as the shared wealth of humankind. It is a wonderful reminder of our rich past. It is our duty to protect our heritage and gift it to the coming generations. With the aim of preserving and protecting the culture of the world and its tremendous heritage, the eighteenth day of April is celebrated as World Heritage Day every year.

The Millennium School ,South City, Lucknow observed this day on 18th April, 2017 by conducting a Special Assembly in the school auditorium.  A PowerPoint Presentation was shown to the students about the varied facets of heritage which includes forts, palaces, burials, animals, birds, festivals, fairs, dances, music, textiles, rangolis, paintings, craftwork, etc.

To enkindle and induce love for the heritage of our country, the Eco Club of the school organized an Intra-Class Quiz Competition. The students participated in decorating the display boards with vibrant pictures and relevant write ups.

 

The Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami, in her address to the assembly emphasised that heritage is a treasure trove of the past and it is the responsibility of the present generation to protect, preserve and promote its continuity for the future generation.
