The students, staff and management of The Millennium School, Amritsar organised a series of events on The National Science Day for the students of grade IV- X on 21-22 April 2022 in the Hall of Inspiration. This event was supported by NCSTC, DST, GOI & PSCST (A Scientific & Industrial Research Organization approved by DSIR & Central Govt.)
The event commenced with the explanation of the basic objective of observing The National Science Day, which is to spread the message of the importance of science and its application and to commemorate discovery of Raman Effect by Dr C.V. Raman.
The students portrayed great ardour and enthusiasm, participating in various competitions like Fun with Science, Model Making and PPT cum speech competition. The event was graced by the presence of the honourable judges Dr.Bindiya Arora, Mr. Amit Kumar, Mrs. Harpreet Kaur, Mr. Varinder Pal Singh, Mrs. Meenu Dewan and Mr. Gaurav Talwar.
The Principal Ms.Shailja Tandon enlightened all the participants on the significance of hands on practice. Grade IV and V students presented exceptional experiments showcasing their practical skills learnt through the years. The topic for grade IV and V was Fun with Science. They performed remarkably well. 1st position was bagged by Mahib Mehra of grade IV. Guntas Singh, Samarpreet Singh, Kriday Mohan of grade V performed in group and bagged 1st position. 2nd position was bagged by group of three students Vanya Gupta, Priyanshi Wadhwa and Jasleen Kaur of Grade IV. There was a tie between Japnam Singh and Shreyan Sharma of grade V. At 3rd Position there was a tie between Prabhasees Walia and Rishman Kaur of Grade IV, Gurrehmat Kaur and Ayaan Kumar of grade V. Winners under Igniting talent category were Khusgagam Singh Walia, Trijal Gupta and Gauransh Kundra of Grade IV, Vasvi Gupta and Erick Mahajan of Grade V. Grade VI and VII explained their scientific revelations through PPT. 1st position was bagged by Sukhmani Sandhu, grade VI, Yashia Bhalla , grade VII, 2nd position was bagged by Khwaish Kaur Saini of grade VI, Agastya Khanna, Nitya Wadhwa, Ayra Sawhney of grade VII, At 3rd position there was a tie between Arshia Tuli and Geetamreddy of grade VI. Ashita Madaan and Tanvi Rana of Grade VII. Under Igniting Category, the winners were Manya Gupta and Manak Jain of Grade VI, Kairavbir Singh Osahan and Sachi Jain of grade VII. Along with this, phenomenal models were made by the students of grade VIII- X. The remarkable performance by the students left the judges in wonder. Innovative Champ was awarded to Kirtida Sachdeva. 1st position was bagged by Aahana Shorey, 2nd position was bagged by Abhiroop Kaur and Surbhi Khanna, Abeer Mahajan and Rakshit Sharma for their group work. 3rd position was bagged by Chitrakshi Mahajan of Grade IX, Rudra Soni and Sanjambir Singh of Grade X for their group work. Under Igniting Talent category winners were: Prabhasees Singh, Alakshendra Taneja and Jihan, Shehnoor Kaur, Tanish K. Aggarwal and Panavdeep Singh.
This event was indeed a feast for eyes and a wonderful experience for all the students.
