The theme of World Earth Day 2022 is 'Invest In our Planet' calling for businesses to shift towards sustainable practices. This movement is expected to change the business climate, the political climate, and how to take the action on the climate.
We, at The Millennium School, Amritsar always try to protect and safeguard our Mother Earth. Even small step towards sustainable living, surely matters!
Not only Earth Day, but everyday matters! Consistency is the key. We encourage students to plant a sapling on their birthday in the school campus, so as they celebrate their birthday every year with some old and a new friend. We responsibly segregate the waste in the classroom to be dumped, hence, green and blue bins have been kept in each classroom. We responsibly recycle E-waste. Our school has taken a series of small but continuous initiatives to encourage sustainable living.
This Earth Day, a similar initiative was taken by The Millennium School, Amritsar. The students of Grade III-V made very creative wall planters. Old plastic bottles and cans were painted and wrapped with jute threads to create fascinating hanging planters. The aim of this project was to encourage the reuse of plastic bottles available at home, instead of dumping them.
“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.” Remember, the Earth, the air, the land and the water are not an inheritance from our fore fathers but on loan from our children. So we have to handover to them at least as it was handed over to us.
