TMS, KKR ORGANISES EK SHAM RAFI KE NAAM

The Millennium School, Kurukshetra celebrated the 95th birthday of the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi as ‘Ek Sham Rafi Ke Naam’ with gusto and zest. Mohammed Rafi who is considered as one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent was remembered through this event and was paid the musical homage .
On this occasion the parent- singers were cordially invited to sing the songs of the eminent singers- Mohammed Rafi, Kishor Kumar, Manna Dey, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsale, etc. who had left the trajectory like heritage for the posterity. The ambience of the school was musical and was echoing with the evergreen numbers of the immortal songs.
The eve started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal Dr. A. K. Singh. The Night became more interesting when the favourite and melodious songs of the great singers were sung by the parents one after the another. The songs Chand si mehbooba ho meri, Aane se uske aaye bahar, Chand si mehbooba, etc. were in the singing list of the singers. Some songs were sung on tracks, while some were sung live. Not only the parents but the teachers of the school also sang the tuneful songs. The mega event ended with the declaration of the Solo Male Singers, Solo Female Singers, Duet Singers who stood first , second and third in each category. All the listeners were also enthusiastic and were in the demand of encore. Mr. Ranjan Sharma, Mr. Sandeep Sharma and Mr. Somprakash Sharma were declared the first, second and third in Best Male Solo Singers. Dr. Archana Singh, Dr. Surabhi Tiwari Chopra and Mrs.Savita Gupta were adjudges the first, second and third Best Female Solo Singers respectively. Dr. Sandeep Pal Singh and Dr. Prabhjot Kaur were declared the Best Duet Singers. Mr. Madan Lal was given the prize for special performance.
Principal Dr. A. K. Singh declared the results and congratulated the winners. He thanked the parents and the listeners for sparing their time on this commemorative event. He also exhorted the present populace to maintain and restore the golden heritage of our rich culture and classical music by becoming the inseparable part of it so that the posterity can learn it and get advantage from it.
