‘FESTIVITIES AROUND THE GLOBE’
In this academic session 2019-20 The Millennium School Indore has initiated the process to instill international dimension into the learning experience. To give a glimpse of diverse festivities and celebrations around the globe, our students are all excited as they prepare to celebrate the most popular festival of Thailand ‘Loi Krathong’. Loi Krathong is a Siamese festival celebrated annually throughout the Kingdom of Thailand and in nearby countries with significant southwestern Tai cultures. The Loi Krathong Festival is one of the most exuberant festivals celebrated in Thailand. The celebrations are a national event in Thailand, and it is sometimes referred to as the 'festival of lights'. The word 'loi' means to float. 'Krathong' is used to refer to a small container or basket, which is decorated with banana leaves, flowers, incense sticks and candles. The name of the festival thus means 'to float a basket'. Loi Krathong is also seen as a time to wash away sins of the past year and welcome good fortune and luck in the coming year. As we welcome the New Year 2020 at The Millennium School Indore, India.
The students of grade V C will show their creativity by making the traditional Loi Krathong decorative lamp/ basket of flowers. These lamps will play a significant meaning for the festive season for them.
