‘EXPRESSIONS’, THE ANNUAL CONCERT

The Millennium School, Lucknow (Class VI) celebrated its Annual Concert on 13th February,2015. The cultural, literary and musical extravaganza included scintillating performances that revolved around the theme ‘Glimpses of India’ which spoke volumes about the inherent talent and potential of the students.

The ceremony was inaugurated with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the Principal of the school, Dr Manjula Goswami, along with a few guests. The concert was an amazing display of an animated student exchange programme. The event commenced with the devotional rendition of ‘Mangalam’ i.e. the amalgamation of five primary elements that comprise life. This was followed by some amazing recitals from the school choir. The students presented the traditional ‘KATHAK’ to showcase the rich legacy of Awadh. The children presented folk dances from the flamboyant Punjab to the vibrant North East; from poise Kashmir to the ethereal Tamil Nadu. This was followed by an English play which was amply appreciated for its theatrics. The guests were riveted by the dance performances of the students. The dances exuded opulence and grandeur of both the classical and western form. The students showed exemplary flexibility by making a human pyramid. The Hindi Nukkad Natak (a satire) entertained the audience through the impressive histrionics of the young actors. It deftly conveyed the message of unity in diversity. The audience were enthralled and transfixed to another world by the melodious musical performances. The programme rose to a final crescendo with the grand finale leaving a beautiful resonance lingering in the minds of everyone.

 

The Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami thanked the audience and appreciated the efforts taken by the staff and students for creating a memorable event. She extolled the students to realize their inherent potential and showcase it to the optimum level. She also advised the parents to pay attention to the teenaged children to ensure that they do not fall in bad company and do not develop untoward habits.
