The Millennium School, Amritsar organised an educational trip to COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH-CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS ORGANIZATION (CSIR-CSIO) for the students of Grade VIII-X. Central Scientific Instruments Organization is one of the constituent laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (SIR), an Indian industrial research and development organization situated at Chandigarh's Sector 30C. CIO was established in October 1959 as a laboratory that works on the research, design, and development of scientific and industrial instruments. It was located in New Delhi, and then moved to Chandigarh in 1962. Students were astounded to see real-life science experiences.
Students visited the Indo Swiss Training Centre at CSIR-CSIO and heard Dr. Manoj Kumar Bhuyan, Principal Scientist at CSIO, give a popular science lecture.Millenniumites were also able to witness the operation of many advanced machines such as the 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine, PCB prototyping Machine and EDM Wire cut machines at CNC Vertical Machining Centre and Mechatronics Workshop.
Furthermore, students were informed about the various diploma/skill-based courses and other opportunities available at CSIO after 10th grade. It was indeed a fascinating and enjoyable visit.
